Beautifully worked by hand, 20s 30s Antique and unused Spanish Toledo gold Damascene brooch with with 24K gold and silver inlays over an oxidized non precious metal. It’s in lovely condition, even more considering its age. It measures 1.90″ x 1.03″ = 4,83 x 2,61cm.
Authentic Toledo gold is an ancient Spanish tradition that must be hand etched and inlayed by hand, and with 24K gold. In this brooch you can see small differences in the handmade inlays.
Damascene is the art of to embeding noble metals in previously oxidized iron or steel. Hence its black color.
All the Toledo Damascene collection in the shop is in the same New Old Stock condition, which I brought from an old closed shop.
